IMA Hosts Record-Breaking Blood Drive
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Shrewsbury, NJ – On October 11th, IMA Urgent Care & Primary Care hosted a blood drive to benefit NJ Blood Services. This was the sixth bi-annual blood drive IMA has hosted. Donors showed up in record numbers and a total of 77 units of blood were donated at The Presbyterian Church at Shrewsbury.
“Hosting a blood drive coincides with IMA Urgent Care & Primary Care’s core values of giving back to the community,” said Dr. Roger Thompson. “With a simple blood donation, we have the ability to help save the life of someone who could be a coworker, loved one or neighbor.”
Blood is routinely transfused to patients with cancer and other diseases, premature babies, organ transplant recipients and trauma victims. Each pint of blood can be used to save up to three lives in the area.
“The short amount of time it takes to donate can mean a lifetime to a patient with a serious medical condition. We thank our generous patients who took the time to donate blood,” states Dr. Thompson.
