Over the past few months, we have all been flooded by issues that add to our stress:
- Covid
- The Election Process
- Protests
- Workplace changes
- The Economy & Our Finances
- Virtual School
We all need to recognize the negative impact these issues have on our stress levels, mental health and general well-being.
In order to manage our new stress levels, we all need to “Take Time Out.” We need time away from our stressors…work, the news, social media, etc. There is good proof that spending a few minutes a day to de-stress is helpful to improve your mental health. Everyone has different ways to de-stress, relax and refocus. Please be certain you make time for yourself.
Some examples:
- Sleep
- Massage
- Unplug from electronics
- Exercise
- Meditate
- Read
- Pray
- Music
- Yoga
- Tea
- Talk/Visit with Family/Friends
Be Outdoors, Enjoy Nature (30 minutes in nature has been proven to improve well-being)
Whatever it is for you…make it a priority and do something to relax every day.
